Day One: London

The morning of our first day was spent in recovery mode. Audrey really had a rough time of it, so I hung out with her while the guys wandered around. A little after noon, I forced her into the shower and dried and styled her hair while she posted her last blog entry.

Pics from the guys' walk:

The guys returned and we headed down to the hotel lounge for cupcakes and tea, but ended up ordering lunch. Unfortunately, the food took an inordinately long time to arrive, which led us to a collective glazed stupor.

After lunch, us waiting for the kids:

We spent the afternoon seeing all the classic touristy sites:

One of which was really interesting. This is Edward III's Jewel House, circa 1356, an uncanny oasis of calm amidst tourist hell.

We did not do this:

We returned to the hotel and had a lovely tea at the hotel (finally got to those cupcakes). Later, we hit the Lamb Pub for dinner. Yum.

a few things.
first, i still love this blog and think it is the greatest ever.

second, i would like to know why momma gallien styled audrey's hair. because she was sicky and it was relaxing? because she was sicky and unable?

thirdly, i am amused by how inproportionately large alex's hand is compared to his face in the last picture. he appears to have hulk arms.

finally, i enjoy the varying shades of red that are present in the gallien childrens' hair.

and also, is it weird how much i comment on this blog, especially given that i have only met 1/3 of this family? i suppose brad and i once spoke on aim about--what was it?-- plausible deniability?

cheers!

Well, maybe if you count Smokey . . .

Lis, love the pix - did you get that brown skirt from Anthropologie? I think I have that skirt. I think I'm wearing that skirt! Oh, the serendipity.

What're you eating there, Audrey? It looks good. Hope you're feeling muuuuch better.

Hi Sus,

No, I got the skirt at Ann Taylor Loft ages ago. Audrey was eating bangers and mash. Yummy...

Hi Molly,

Glad you approve of the blog. I styled Audrey's hair as a soothing activity because that's what mommies do!
